When you hear the word “Slack”, what usually comes to mind? Most of the time, we associate that word with laziness or being unproductive.

While that is true in some cases, I am actually going to talk about something positive and it uses that specific word.

Today, I am going to talk about the Slack App for Android. This is considered to be a productivity app and I will talk all about the app in this article.

The gist of Slack is that it replaces the messaging app of the Android operating system. The Slack messaging app is even more intuitive and it allows you to share files to and from the one you’re communicating with.

Furthermore, when you first fire up the Slack App for Android, you will be greeted with a nice interface that will walk you through the features of the app.

According to the app’s official page, messaging can be really distracting and it can be so untidy. The Slack App for Android will make sure that you not only get your point across but it will also allow you to streamline the process as well.

So, most of our messaging apps are filled with undeleted messages or messages that we don’t really care about. The Slack App for Android helps you with that by presenting you with a powerful search and archiving mechanism.

You can search for a specific message by using some of its characteristics (like using the date that you received the message, for example).

The Slack App for Android not only integrates with the Android messaging app but it also integrates itself with a variety of different platforms such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Twitter, Zendesk, One Drive, and much more. Further, the app developer will also add more support for different platforms in the future.

Again, I want to iterate how effective the search and archival tool this app has. Since it integrates with a variety of messaging and file storage platforms, all you really need to do is type a specific criterion and the message or file will be presented to you in a flash.

Do note that the integration (aside from the Android messaging app) will require a working internet connection. If you’re using your phone’s 3G or 4G LTE connectivity, I highly recommend that you get a mobile phone signal booster to ensure you get a consistent mobile data stream.

Anyway, the Slack App for Android also comes with a companion software which you can install on your Windows PC.

Just to be clear, you need to register for an account to fully utilize the functions of the Slack App for Android (and so that you can integrate it with the companion software for Windows PCs).

Reduce the clutter and increase the functionality of your messaging app by using the Slack App for Android mobile phones.

This app is for free but you can also donate to the developer if you want to because this app is just so useful.

The Slack App for Android can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and is completely free of charge.
